Bellevue, Wash., May 12, 2009 – Univar, a world leader in chemical distribution, today announced the appointment of Sandy Wilson as Country Director – Univar China effective August 1, 2009.
Wilson has been with Univar for eight years, most recently as product director – Caustic Soda, North America where he has had overall responsibility for caustic soda strategy including sourcing into Univar’s extensive network of deep-sea and barge terminals.
In this new position, Wilson will lead Univar’s commercial efforts within China and will replace Rod Nugent, who will be retiring at the end of 2009.
Wilson began his career in the chemical industry with Stauffer Chemical Company where he spent two years in outside sales. He then spent twelve years at Solvay where he held various sales and product management positions in both its Caustic Soda and Barium-Strontium business units.
Wilson will report to Russell Day, Vice President – Development.
