REDMOND, Wash. – March 1, 2010 – Univar, a leading global chemical distributor, has appointed Dave Cummings as vice president and chief information officer.

Cummings joined Univar following a very successful 22-year career with energy giant ConocoPhillips. He has held a number of leadership positions in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, Business Development and Information Technology – gaining extensive cross-functional and international experience. Among his more recent roles, Cummings made significant contributions to the successful merger and integration of the Conoco and Phillips businesses as Europe Upstream SAP Program Manager, Canadian SAP Program Manager, and Global P2P Program Manager.
Most recently, Cummings worked at ConocoPhillips’ corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas as the Upstream Global Solutions Manager and Business Partner where he led a global solutions team responsible for the strategies and programs for designing and implementing common processes, technology and data environments around the world.
Cummings was educated in the United Kingdom and earned an Associate’s degree in Electro Mechanical Engineering, a BS (Honors) in Business Administration and an MBA in Strategic Business Management.
